Making progress

I was lucky enough to have a break last week, which means I actually had time to make progress on a few things.

The first thing I tackled was just reorganizing my sewing room. My darling husband took me to Ikea to buy a shelving unit and he even put it together for me. I moved things around and started organizing my stash onto magazine boards... I will tell you more about that later when I am actually done.

I also had time to work on cutting out the background fabric and starting the sewing on my adorn quilt. Didn't quite finish the top during the break, but I took some time to finish it tonight. This is the second month that I have actually finished my a lovely year of finishes goal. That is pretty exciting to me.

I was hoping to maybe get it quilted with my break, but instead I decided to work on my sewing room. I think that was a great choice. I feel like it has really helped me get some of my sewing mojo back as I am much happier in my space now. Can't wait to finish and to share the new room set up with you.

SacMGQ Bee Blocks

One of my favorite things to do with scraps is make bee blocks. Luckily a few of us from the Sacramento MQG decided to start our own little bee.

We had three queen bees this month. They each picked something so different.

I felt like this was a great way to get back into creating a little every couple days. I also feel like it maybe helping me get my sewing mojo back.

Phew scrap sorting done. Too bad the rest of my sewing room isn't looking that nice. Oh well. Calling it quits for tonight.

It was odd little bit of a coincident but, our SacMQG topic of discussion was fabric storage and scrap storage. I shared my scrap storage system.  I really like this system because it is easy to pull the colors that you want. Plus it is pretty :).

A Lovely Year of Finishes Feb 2015 Goal

I had thought about making my goal simple for this month. I was going to make it finish my bee blocks for the SacMQG bee. However, since I have already finished two out of the three I decided to go with a loftier goal.

I decided that I would like to finish one of my current work in progress boxes. I am looking forward to at least finishing my quilt top of my adorn mini from Simply Retro with Camille Roskelley. I still need to cut the triangles and of course sew it all together. I may even get it quilted.... but that might be a long stretch to even try to set as a goal.

I almost forgot to post my a lovely year of finishes this month. I am going to try to finish my adorn mini quilt. #alyof

I may have picked the easiest one, but it still maybe hard for me to tackle. I mean I am still just getting back into this whole quilting thing.
