Week in Progress #32

Hey all! Thanks for stopping by. If you didn't know already I am having a giveaway for some digital scrapbook software. Go check it out and enter the giveaway.

Completed Projects:
My Memories Suite projects. It can be used for more than just scrapbooks. Here is a great way to use the software to plan quilt blocks. This is my block plan for the 4 x 5 modern block swap.

Continuing Projects:
I took another class on free motion quilting. Why does everything always seem to go wrong when you are in a class. Here are a quilting sandwiches.

FWQ practice stippling

If I gained anything it was that my tension and timing are much better.

I however, really, really did not get the whole stone thing. Mine look more like grapes.

Also, my machine is still having this weird issue with thread. I am starting to get annoyed.

My Memories Suite Giveaway

image via

I am so excited to have a giveaway for you all today. I let you all know that something fun was coming to celebrate my 5,000 page hit. While I was trying to decide what to do for you all, I was contacted by the people at my memories with an offer to sponsor a giveaway. I quickly debated about this as I am not scrapbooker. I have often pretended that I would like to be one. I love all the pretty paper and the idea. However, I have never actually created a scrapbook, but a digital one, now that might be more my style.

I decided to give the website a look. There were a lot of neat things there and there was a lot the  software said it could do. I became very interested when I saw that you could make cards (which I have done before) and calendars.

As I looked around at their site, www.mymemories.com , I found it to be very interesting and intriguing. I also thought about my own sometimes creative life and realized how often I jump around on what I create. Most recently it has been quilts, smartboard lesson (sorry haven't been sharing those), and food. Then I realized that this software could be useful to many of you out there, as many of you may create in all different ways.

Only after two sessions of playing with the software I was able to basically figure it out, and it was fun. There are also lots of youtube videos to help you learn the software.

The first thing I tried was the function to automatically create a scrapbook. It was fun, but I wasn't in love with that feature. I felt like I had to change to much to make it what I wanted, but it did create a quick scrapbook.

Then I decided to use the software to make a record of my most recent quilts. I have to tell you, that was so much fun! Now I have two great pages that will always help me remember what I have created.

For those of these I used a pre-designed layout. But those aren't all the features. I will show more later this week. However, now it is time for the giveaway.

To win one digital copy of my memories suite:
First and foremost you must leave a way for me to contact you. Either by having an email attached to you account or by leaving in your posts.

Work in Progress # 31

Believe it our not I have another finish this week. It is all that I got to, but at least I got something done. Well, that and I finished my all about me series.

For the most part I have been very busy with dogs. Gus (the big German Shepherd dog) got into the pantry on Friday and I have been dealing with the repercussions of him eating a can of Crisco and a container of icing, and dry rice, and some other random things. Luckily none of it was fake sweeter or chocolate. Oh top of the poor Suzie (the little German Shepherd) broke her too. She did a pretty good job too. It was rotting out and had to come out. Man did her breath stink, which is how we found out. She had poopy breath so I looked in her mouth and yuck, I think I will have nightmares for a long time about that (I already don't like teeth).

Anyhow, all that means, I didn't get to do as much as I would have like during the weekend.
